Sexual Health, Rights, Justice, and Pleasure: Advancing Equity and Care Across the Life Course
28th World Congress of the World Association for Sexual Health
DECEMBER 10-12, 2027 | Cape Town, South Africa
Sexual Health, Rights, Justice, and Pleasure: Advancing Equity and Care Across the Life Course
First Time on African Soil
Cape Town was originally selected to host the WAS World Congress in 2021, before the COVID-19 pandemic moved the Congress online. In 2027, WAS returns to Cape Town for a historic milestone: the first in-person WAS World Congress to be held on African soil.
The 2027 Congress will bring together the global sexual health community to explore how Sexual Health, Rights, Justice, and Pleasure can be advanced across the life course.
Our sexual health needs, experiences, relationships, identities, and circumstances change throughout our lives. The Congress will examine these evolving realities while advancing a shared commitment to equity, dignity, well-being, and access to appropriate information, education, and care for all.
Every Body. Every Stage. Every Age.
This is the vision at the heart of WAS 2027: sexual health is a lifelong dimension of health and well-being, and Sexual Health, Rights, Justice, and Pleasure must be recognized and advanced for all people, at every stage and every age.
Save the date: December 10-12, 2027.
Registration, program details, and further Congress information will be announced in the months ahead. Subscribe below to receive updates.
