YOU’RE INVITED

Welcome from the WAS 2027 Congress President

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is my great pleasure to invite you to Cape Town, South Africa, for the 28th Congress of the World Association for Sexual Health, taking place from December 10-12, 2027. As a global community committed to advancing Sexual Health, Rights, Justice, and Pleasure, where everybody belongs, we gather at a time when collaboration, innovation, and courageous leadership are needed more than ever.

Our congress theme, “Sexual Health, Rights, Justice, and Pleasure: Advancing Equity and Care Across the Life Course,” invites us to consider how sexual well-being shapes lives, relationships, and communities across every stage of the human journey.

South African humanitarian and advocate Graça Machel reminds us that

“The world is not ours. It is a treasure we hold in trust for future generations.”

In that spirit, this congress offers an opportunity to reflect on our shared responsibility to build a future in which sexual health, rights, justice, and pleasure are realized for all people, regardless of age, identity, circumstance, or geography.

Set beneath the iconic Table Mountain, Cape Town provides a fitting space for meaningful dialogue, new partnerships, and the exchange of knowledge that can inspire lasting change.

I warmly invite clinicians, researchers, educators, advocates, policymakers, and emerging leaders from every corner of the world to bring your passion, energy, expertise, and curiosity to this congress. Together, let us learn from one another, challenge assumptions, share innovations, tell our stories, and strengthen our collective commitment to advancing Sexual Health, Rights, Justice, and Pleasure, while promoting equity and care across the life course.

I look forward to welcoming you to Cape Town in 2027.
